Two days ago we posted an article about Siri being ported to the iPhone 4. The only proof we have right now is @joshmtucker, a member of ModMyi, who has installed @Jackoplane’s port on his device and confirms that it is working. That means his port should be legit, but we still would like to see a video of his iPhone 4 with Siri connecting to Apple’s servers.

@stroughtonsmith just tweeted some answers to common questions about his port of Siri to the iPhone 4:

1: Estimate release date for Siri - no
2: Can i Provide the Siri stuff - no
3: Is it working properly yet - no”
“4. Can i release it on Cydia? No, it requires Apple’s files from a 4S. Ill leave illegal dirtribution to you”
“5. Did not get files from the iPhone 4S IPSW. Pulled the files from a running device using iBrowser and a special tool to pull dyld cache”
“6. I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t run on an iPod touch 4th gen, or 3rd gen, or a 3GS. Can try this after working”

Siri on the iPad 2 (work in progress)
Just yesterday we heard that a hacker almost ported Siri to the iPhone 4. Now, one day later, it looks like we already have port to the iPad 2 as well. According to his tweets, @SonnyDickson, iOS Hacker and 9to5Mac Researcher, is testing Siri on his iPad 2.

We don’t know much about the state of this port, but as he’s already looking for beta testers, the port might be in its final stages.
